we live in the Mountains in Tennessee. We are the first inhabitants of this area since Chief Duck was driven out by US troops in the early 1800’s. We have a lot of copper heads. Have’t seen an Eastern Diamondback, but they are said to be here also.Put the snake trap out on the 4th of July. Today, August 6, we got our first snake. We bought another trap today also. The photo on the left shows shows a captured snake and various other critters. The photo on the left shows how far the snake dragged off the sticky insert.I had been carefully looking inside the black box to see if there was a snake. From my experience here, sample size of 1, it appears that the snake will drag the sticky insert, obviating the need to check inside. Further, I had worried about being envenomated by a snake on the insert. Not to worry, this one was so well stuck that the only way he/she could envenomate would be if you put a finger or toe immediately in front of his/her mouth and then stuck it into his/her mouth.I shall add additional comments as I have more experience.Another spring more snakes. Got another copperhead, another lizard (skink) and a field mouse. See photos.Really works very well.
