It cuts like a gas powered saw without the noise and smelly smoke. I grew up in the woods cutting firewood and pulpwood. You might want a spare batteries if you are going to be doing much cutting but it will surprise you how much it will cut on one battery. You can buy an Oregon chain or bar for replacement.
