We regularly have birds flying into our southern windows so I thought I would give these a try. Having produced static cling decals (actually not a decal because a decal has an adhesive back) for over 50 years these applied easily. Since these do use static and not an adhesive they do require a “clean” surface in order to adhere. (That also means the back side of the static cling can’t have hand oils from hand lotions etc.) It also helps to rub over these after application to ensure a good static buildup.I like the circles because they are a “solid” object instead of butterflies etc. That means they have a more concentrated prismatic effect. They are fairly visible when applied, but more so from the inside with direct sunlight. From the outside the effectiveness is marginal depending on if you have storm windows or screens which will mitigate the prismatic effect if not completely hide the decal. Your best bet is to apply these as close to the outside glass surface as possible, and several within a confined area, for maximum effect. That effect also depends greatly on the reflections coming from within your home. My only hope is the changing prism effect will alert the birds.Since it’s winter here, I wouldn’t know if this actually works, but for the cost and ease of application, you can’t go wrong.I’m only giving this 4 stars because due to the size and how these may reflect as noted above, their actually effectiveness is marginal.
